    Juläine – biostimulation with poly-L-lactic acid

    Juläine™ is a biostimulator from the Swedish manufacturer Nordberg Medical. It contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which stimulates the tissue to form new collagen over the following months.

    Unlike a filler, Juläine™ does not add immediate volume. The result develops slowly from your own tissue and therefore looks particularly natural. The treatment is mainly suited to decreasing firmness and mild volume loss in the face.

    Every treatment is performed by a physician. During the consultation we discuss whether Juläine™, Sculptra® or another biostimulator best suits your findings, and plan the sessions together in advance.

    Applications

    The poly-L-lactic acid is placed in fine particles into the appropriate tissue layer. There it stimulates the body's own connective tissue cells to form new collagen. The lactic acid itself is broken down by the body over time, while the newly formed collagen remains.

    Both products work with poly-L-lactic acid and stimulate collagen building. They differ in manufacturing, particles and application. Which product suits you is decided after the medical examination during the consultation.

    Commonly treated areas are the cheeks, temples, jawline and areas with decreasing firmness. The goal is not a new face but a fresher, firmer appearance of your own face.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Right after treatment you mainly see the fluid, which redistributes over the first few days. The actual result develops over the following weeks and months as new collagen forms.

    That depends on your starting point and goal. Two to three sessions several weeks apart are often useful. We define the exact plan during the consultation.

    A filler adds volume to a specific spot immediately. Juläine™, by contrast, stimulates the tissue to form collagen itself. The result comes more slowly but looks particularly natural.

    Most patients only feel slight pressure. Numbing cream is available on request.

    After treatment you receive detailed aftercare instructions, for example on massaging the treated areas. Avoid sport, sauna and strong heat for 24–48 hours.

    No. Both contain poly-L-lactic acid but are different products from different manufacturers. Which one suits you is discussed after the medical examination.

    We do not treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with acute inflammation in the treatment area, with a tendency towards excessive scarring, or with certain autoimmune diseases. We clarify this in the medical consultation.
